Saturday August 13

10:00 AM  –  1:00 PM

Welcome Environmental Educators of North Carolina!

Join PARI educators for a day of professional development and space.  We will begin with a gallery tour that shows some of the history of space in our NASA heritage gallery.   Next we'll see the critical role that geology and earth science play in space exploration in our meteorite and mineral galleries.  You'll even get to hold a piece of the Moon.

We'll also show you how astronauts and space scientists study and grow plants in outer space and other extreme environments.  Plants are essential for food and nutrition, health and well being, and air and water quality.  But growing them outside of their natural environment can be a challenge.  Plants in Space can be adapted to provide activities and log term experiments for learners of all ages and can be matched to curriculum standards from K-12.

PARI will provide a certificate for proof of attendance for those who need it to satisfy professional development hours.

Optionally, you may join PARI for the Perseids Meteor Shower the night before.  Tickets are sold separately.
