This Astro Art Paint Party event will feature the Rosette Nebula. Nestled 5,000 light years away within Monoceros, the unicorn constellation, this brilliant nebula is sure to awe! The rosy hues, petal-like swirls, and gleaming stars resembling morning dew drops will inspire you to create a masterpiece worthy of Mom that will outlast any flowers. Come with just your mother or round up the rest of your family. (You don't have to bring mom to come, you can round up a group of friends, too) Bring a bottle of wine to enjoy while you paint.
PARI astronomers will talk about both the Rosette Nebula, and astronomy’s long tradition of using art to bring distant objects within reach. You will be provided everything you need to bring your own vision to life on canvas. We will show you some techniques that will help.
